Interview with “one of the Cratchit children”, played by Grace McKenna, 3 McDiarmada.
Tell us about your acting experience.
I was in the Wizard of Oz in Saint Brigid’s. I was in the choir. I perform pantos throughout the year since 2015. My inspiration for acting is my Granddad. When I was in first year I was in “Rising Voices”. I was in the Women’s Council. 
What made you audition?
I just enjoy acting and I enjoy being on stage since I was little. I thought “A Christmas Carol” would be good to get into the festive spirit. I really enjoyed watching the Disney version of “A Christmas Carol”. And I really enjoyed getting to know students from different year groups. 
Tell us about your role
I play a young Cratchet child. I’m really excited about Christmas and we have a big feast. I’m worried about Tiny Tim as he is really sick at the moment. 
What do you like about acting? 
I just like the build up to the show, the rehearsals, costumes. There is a great atmosphere among the cast. We have a great time doing the show. 
What are you enjoying about this play? 

Getting to know everyone else in the play and getting to know the teachers in the play. I enjoy making new friends and I love to see how it comes together at the very end.

Young Scrooge Claire Mulcahy is a 5th year student who is one of the many students who auditioned for a part in this years production. She explains the process of auditioning for the play as 'nerve wracking'. On the day of the audition, she and her friends picked a scene and a character from the play to portray. She chose the role of the Ghost of Christmas Past alongside her friend who played Scrooge. Despite her nerves, when it came her turn to audition she was actually fairly confident. She describes the teachers who judged their auditions as being very patient and encouraging. Claire was excited to see she got the part of Young Scrooge as 'his scenes are fun to rehearse'. She describes her character as naive, upbeat and full of Christmas spirit. Interview with Th’ Niece, played by Rachel Cozma, 3 McDonagh. Tell us about your acting experience. I was in two plays: I was a bear in Senior Infants in the Jungle Book; I was a jungle animal in "Seussical, The Musical" in 4th class. I was also a hunter in that play. I had to run frantically backstage and get changed. What made you audition? I really like drama. I want to get involved in drama stuff. So I decided I wanted to get involved in “A Christmas Carol”.  Tell us about your role I’m just the wife of Th’ Nephew. I have four lines and a song to sing. I’m singing “Feels Like Christmas”. What do you like about acting?  You get to be a whole different person. Its fun getting to see things from another person’s perspective.
